Hi. My name is Keating, I’m 24 years old and I already have gray hair. Phew! It feels so good to get that off my chest. Does anyone else have this issue? It’s quite frustrating, really. I think I was about fourteen years old when I first noticed silver hairs on my head. Yup, silver. They’re not even gray! I remember sitting in classes throughout high school and having my friends, sitting behind me yanking them out of my head in the middle of class. Sometimes it caught me completely off guard and I’d jump right out of my seat, not knowing what it was. They all thought it was funny and although I laughed along with them, I was at an age where it really drove me insane.
How embarrassing is it to have gray hair as a teenager? As if puberty didn’t give adolescent girls enough issues, my body decided to throw in some gray hair along with it all. None of my friends had gray hair. Most of my teachers didn’t have gray hair either. So why me? According to my mom, my grandfather was completely gray by the age of eighteen so I guess I lucked out? Kind of? Thankfully I am nowhere near being fully gray and Zack shares this issue with me as well. He’s had a cute little patch of gray at the front of his head since he was a teenager.
By the age of sixteen, I was finally able to convince my mom to let me color my hair. Having grays at my age just isn’t ideal and honestly, it’s just not exciting at any age! Since the gray is all throughout my hair, I can’t even part it differently to hide them. They’re everywhere! The photo below shows what my hair looks like when I’m not on top of my hair dye. That was just this past Christmas and it had only been about six weeks since I last colored it. That’s why I color my hair with John Frieda every couple months in order to keep my hair looking happy, healthy, and less gray.
To tackle those stubborn grays, I’ll be changing up the way I color my hair by trying out the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ line by John Frieda. This system comes with three great products: the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ Colour Deepening Shampoo, Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ Colour Deepening Conditioner, and of course the actual Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ Colour Deepening Treatment. What I’m most excited about with this new line is the fact that it’s all done in the shower. Sometimes I just don’t have time to go through the whole process of adding box color at home and other times, I may not have the money to go to a salon to have it professionally colored either. Instead, I can now touch up my hair color while I’m in the shower each morning. That’s part of what makes this system perfect!
The Visibly Deeper™ Shampoo, Visibly Deeper™ Conditioner and Visibly Deeper™ Treatment are all new products made with evening primrose oil and cocoa butter. They are safe to use on both natural and color treated hair for both highlights and lowlights. When paired with the Visibly Deeper™ Treatment, these products gradually deepen your brunette hair color while in the shower. The Visibly Deeper™ Treatment instantly darkens brunette tones up to one shade without the damage of traditional hair color systems.
All three of these amazing products can be found in the hair care aisle of your local Walmart. Many locations will have the display at the end of the hair care aisle as pictured above, but if your location does not have this display then the products can be found in the aisle itself. Not all Walmart locations will have the Visibly Deeper™ Treatment, but it can be purchased online on the Walmart website!
This is what my hair looks like as of a few weeks ago. There have been zero hair dye treatments since then and over the course of the next couple weeks, I will be trying out the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ line by John Frieda. I can’t wait to share the results with you all so stay tuned!
How do you manage those pesky grays?
