Hello, lovelies! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I wanted to talk about health with you all. Living a healthy lifestyle is so important to me and it’s my hope that you all take your health seriously as well. Living healthy doesn’t have to mean you’re constantly living on diets and only eating organically or anything like that. You’ll never catch me dieting or switching to all organic EVERYTHING. Most times, you won’t even catch me making modifications to any of my meals, really. To me, that’s an extreme and no one needs to go to that extreme unless you truly want to (or it’s recommended by a health professional. Remember, I’m not a doctor!). Choosing to live a more healthy lifestyle can be an adjustment and sometimes it can even be overwhelming when you’re not used to it. It’s so much bigger than going on a diet for a few weeks or months. It’s sometimes a full shift in your lifestyle. But choosing to live a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be challenging. In fact, it can be relatively easy. Here are 8 super easy ways you can improve your health this week and start your journey to living a healthy lifestyle.
Drink more water
Drinking more water has so many great health benefits to it. I cannot stress it enough. Water is pretty much the only thing I drink these days aside from the occasional cup of coffee or glass of milk. It gives you so much natural energy and does so much good for every part of your body: your heart, your liver, your skin, your brain. It affects every part of your body. There’s no way to go wrong when you choose to bring more water into your life.
Get an appropriate amount of sleep
I know this is easier said than done sometimes, but this is so crucial to starting your day off on a good note. Not getting enough sleep at night can make you feel sluggish throughout the day which makes it harder to stay focused and perform at your best. So stop staying up until 3am and get some more sleep!
Hit the gym
This has been the holy grail for me this past year. As many of you know, I’m at the gym practically every day. Sometimes it’s a little obsessive, but it’s done so many wonders for my mental and physical health. Not only am I looking better, but I’m also feeling better. When you get in a workout, your body releases endorphins. The same chemical that is released when you fall in love. It’s the happy chemical. And who doesn’t want more happiness in their lives?
Take a few minutes out of your day to unplug from technology and completely clear your mind of stress. This can be a hard task to achieve, but when you’re able to clear your mind, you’re better able to move forward with your day and stay focused on the tasks ahead. This is an essential practice for those who suffer from anxiety.
Eliminate something toxic from your life
This can be a substance, a person, a job, a situation. I removed soda from my diet back in March and have been feeling a million times better ever since. Another big thing I’ve removed from my own life is toxic people. Anyone who doesn’t love and support me. It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes on our overall health when you climate people like that. It makes it so much easier to stay focused on what you want in life and achieve your personal goals. Whatever it may be for you that’s toxic in your life, eliminate it this week.
Take a yoga class
Like the gym, yoga can be such a great stress-reliever. Not only that, but it’s an awesome way to increase your strength and flexibility as well. I started yoga again a couple weeks ago on Mondays and Fridays and it’s such a great way to start and end my week. I try to take classes that are in the mornings so that it’s a healthy way to start my day as well. It really sets the tone for the day and makes me more likely to continue making healthy choices throughout my day.
Write down 10 things you’re thankful for today
This is another great one for mental health. For those of us who suffer from depression and anxiety, it can be super beneficial to take time out of your everyday life to focus on something you’re thankful for. Something that’s making you happy that day. I especially try to do this on the days where I’m feeling the most stressed. It helps so much to take a step back from whatever is stressing me out and focus on something good.
Take your vitamins
It’s super important to get the right amount of vitamins and minerals throughout your day. It’s crazy how much of a role this plays in your health. That’s why it’s important to make sure you’re getting the daily recommended amount each and every day. When I’m in search of a good vitamin, I always choose Nature Made® because it’s the #1 Pharmacist Recommended brand for many key dietary supplement categories*. Nature Made® has a wide variety of vitamins, supplements and probiotics to cover a wide range of needs from Digestive Support, Heart Health & Function, Energy Metabolism, Women’s Health and much more!†
Nature Made® vitamins and supplements are an easy, convenient way to help your body get the nutritional support it needs every day, whether it be to support bone health, immune health or energy metabolism (helping convert food into energy).† The Nature Made® supplement I’ve been needing the most lately is melatonin. I have an awful time falling asleep so sometimes my body needs a little extra melatonin to get myself to sleep. Like I mentioned earlier, sleep is so important in staying healthy and thanks to Nature Made®, I’m better able to regulate my sleep and get the recommended amount each night. And what makes them even better is that they come in a gummy form! I am horrible at swallowing pills so the fact that they come in another form makes me incredibly happy.
Nature Made® Probiotics can be purchased at your local Walmart SuperCenters and Nature Made® Vitamins and Supplements can be purchased at both Walmart and Walmart SuperCenters. They can be found in the health aisles near medicines and other similar health-related products. I always choose Walmart to pick up items like vitamins simply because of their already low prices. It makes it so much easier to stock up on your favorite supplements whenever you need them so that you’re not constantly having to buy them.
